I actually think there are a lot of parallels between Star Wars and the world religions. There are TONS of Islamic references (as one could infer that Luke is actually the Star Wars version of Muhammad). Much of the dress, customs, and culture match the middle east as well. Obi Wan could have a Jesus-like refence.
I'd love some uber-nerd to go through and theorize all of this, cause it would be pretty interesting to me.
